Very good story! I am enjoying all the Ruth Fielding books!
I have really liked this series. Even though they are a bit trite and old fashioned, they are fun to read.
"Ruth Fielding at the War Front," is the only book out of thirty volumes which I have read. Since this book was printed before 1925, it is available to the public for free. Published in 1918, this children's book gave young American girls a look into what women were dealing with during World War I. Ruth Fielding is an independent, outspoken, and brave woman whom embodies a role model for adolescents of the time period. This book not only gave children of the time incite to gender roles and society's outlook, but also motivated modern day readers to ponder wartime values and patriotism between countries. I recommend this book to anyone looking to not only gain knowledge on wartime values from an American, female perspective, but also gain incite on what children of WWI were taught in regards to the war.
I read the Ruth Fielding series as a child and am enjoying rereading them again. Brings back great memories of childhood.
